Warm Refrigerator

I am having a frost problem in my freezer, and thus blocking airflow to the refrigerator. A repairman replaced the JAZZ Board and said there was nothing else that could go wrong. He did not do a diagnostic test of any kind. We have made many attempts to get him back, and every time he stands us up. This has been going on since June 1st.

Every 10 - 14 days the freezer gets plugged up, and I have to defrost by opening freezer door and putting a fan in there. Then everything works great for another 10 - 14 days.

I found an online diagnosis sheet but everything checks out okay. When I put the freezer into forced electronic defrost, the heater element comes on and starts the defrost mode. It is my understanding that this wouldn’t happen if something was wrong.

Also, the freezer and refrigerator are not over crowded, and the door seals are in perfect condition.

Any ideas?

J_m,
How are you forcing the unit into defrost mode?
Do you have a defrost TIMER or adaptive defrost controls?

I have not seen a defrost timer on this fridge, and I’m not sure what adaptive defrost controls are. I was told that the Jazz Board operates everything.

To do an electronic forced defrost:

1: Press and hold fridge door switch

2: Press the fridge (-) button 3 times and release door switch (step one and two must be done within 10 seconds)

3: display will read "f" and "d" (this means forced defrost)

4: Press fridge (-) button once more to confirm and an "S" will display (this means short defrost mode)

5: To select long defrost mode press the (+) button on fridge controls. This allows you to toggle back and forth between short and long cycle.

6: When you have made your selection press the (-) button on fridge side of control to start the defrost.
