Washer leaking oil

Just noticed some oil has leaked from my washer when I moved it temporarily. It is a small amount, about the size of 2-3 quarters on the floor. This machine is 10-11 years old and has been used by just myself for the whole time. Can anybody recommend if it is worth pursuing repair (of the gearbox I would assume) with a machine this old? Other than the oil leak the machine runs well. It is a Whirlpool LXR6432JQ1. I saw the price of a new gearbox assembly was about $180 which wouldn’t make sense to pay, but maybe a repair of the gearbox would be more affordable if done by myself. But it is 10-11 years old… Any advice welcome!
Thanks-

Run it again after you clean up the oil and see if it continues to leak. You may want to take off the cabinet and jumper the lid switch so you can see if the problem continues.

If it does, and it probably will you can remove the existing transmission, take off the cover and get a new seal and fill with enough oil to reach spec. After that you should be fine.
