Washer making loud thumping sound

Washer makes loud thumping sound after spin cycle when basket start slowing down. Do I need to replace the brakes or coupler. Thanks

The coupling should not be the problem. I would start by replacing the support springs, and check out the support structure itself to make sure nothing is out of whack or broken.

My washer started to make a ringing noise. An I am not sure what the problem could be, because everything else seems to work fine expect for that noise that it is making. Please let me know what it could be I am very concerned and I would like to take care of the problem before it gets worse thanks.;):confused::confused::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Please start a new thread, and post your model number and a description of your machine (how old, any other problems etc) and someone should be able to help you.

Noises are very difficult for us to diagnose because we need to be there to hear it and determine its possible location. If you can, you should take off the run and operate the machine and see if you can pinpoint the area of the machine the noise is coming from.

Thanks

For urch082, seems like a loose drive block nut holding the spin basket in place. If you have worn tabs on the spin tube, you might need a new one. You will also need the special spanner wrench to tighten it properly.
