My washer has been getting progressively louder over the last months. Most recently, it seems to have a difficult time agitating. When it enters the spin cycle, it tries to turn, the motor hum noise gets loader, and eventually it cuts out (click noise - motor protection fuse?). I took off the front panel and removed the belt - the pulley seems to turn with relatively little resistance (of course, the machine is full of wet and increasingly moldy cloths). With the belt off, the motor turns and makes little noise. My investigation started last night - it clunked out in the spin cycle repeatedly. I decided to give it the night off - I spun long enough today to complete the wash spin cycle, but when it went into the rinse spin cycle, it quit again. Motor?
