Washer stopping midcycle - Timer issue?

Hello!

My washer is stopping mid-cycle. The timer shows a completed cycle, but when I open the lid, the drum is full of soapy water. The machine seems to stop after the agitating cycle, failing to drain, spin, and rinse the load. If I manually move the timer to to the end of the rinse cycle and restart it, it will drain and spin the load.

My first guess would be that the timer has gone bad, but I’m no expert, unfortunately. I opened up the console and I don’t see any damage that is readily apparent (burned wires, etc). Is it still likely that the timer is the culprit, or is there something else I should check?

Thanks!

That does seem to be a timer issue since it will operate mechanically. Trying changing it out and see if that fixes things.

If you buy the timer from this site and that does not fix the problem you can return it.
