Recently, my Whirlpool washer tub (top loader) is tilted, seems to be looser than it used to be, and shows sign of spray with detergent around the rim. It also is more likely to bang with a heavy load than in the past. After viewing your video help on repairing suspension springs, I suspect that is the problem with my machine. Is there a quick way, without taking everything apart to determine if it is the spring? Would prefer not to take it apart, determine parts needed, put back together, etc.
You can’t know without looking. It is easy to take the cabinet off. It may just be that the lower hole for the counterweight spring has rusted through and all you need to do is drill a new hole. Take the cabinet off and take a look.
