Washer Won't Stop Filling/

Hi. Yesterday my tub was not spinning and I purchased a coupler kit and replaced it. I felt like McGyver and the tub /spin cycle worked.

Problem now is that the water will not stop filling the TB. It did work before I did the above repair. If I let it go it would overflow. I have done some research and I did make sure the clear tube in back of the control panel was clear and not bent.

When I fill the tub the washer will work in the wash cycle near the end of the cycle for about 3 minutes then drains and moves to rinse and I have to watch it again to make sure it does not overflow.

I have been told it is the fill switch that needs to be replaced. If this is true then why when I stop the water from going into the tub, why would not the washer still work and wash the clothes?

I am trying to decide if I should fix the unit further or by a new washer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

First you need to check to see if the tube got pulled off the tub when you done the last repair. The tube should be connected to the tub (I believe on the back right).

Assuming that isn’t your problem (if it is disregard this part) either the water valve or the water level control is bad. I am not sure I quite follow your post are you saying the washer will start to wash but the water keeps entering the tub? If so it sounds more like the water valve. If you have to cut the water valve off (at the wall) to make the water stop flowing replace the water inlet valve. If turning off the washer stops the water flow replace the water level control (provided the tube isn’t clogged or off). Hope this help!
