When I turn my washer on, it fills with water, agitates for about 2-3 minutes and then stops. My husband pulled off the cover to reveal the electrical connections and nothing seems to be burnt. We checked the connection to the lid switch and it is tight.
From what I’ve read on here, it sounds like the timer. But then I’ve also read it’s usually not the timer!!! Any ideas???

It only comes back on if I spin the knob and put it in the same exact position, right where it starts the agitation cycle. And I can do that repeatedly, so I wouldn’t think it’s overheating??? It agitates for 2 to 3 minutes and shuts back off.
Nothing happens when I put it on spin.
That is what I meant by turn the timer back.
It does sound like the timer is bad but a loose connection is possible.
