Washer

My GE washer will fill, it will not agitate, or spin, it just makes a humming sound. It does go through the cycles. I realized the problem after running a load of clothes and when I went to empty the washer, the clothes were wet, but I could tell that the clothes had not actually washed or the water spun out of them. I thought that maybe there was something in the hoses that had kept it from draining completely, so I did remove the hoses from the pump and found nothing. (I thought this was a problem because when I removed the front of the machine casing there was water present). I put it back together and set it too small load with no clothes in it and let it fill again, it filled and then nothing but the humming, I turned the dial to drain and spin, it drained and then again nothing but humming.

Any suggestion?

With water in it, select "spin" and see if you can start it by turning the tub manually. Be very careful not to let it grab your clothing as you do this. If it starts, you may need this: AP3205320

My washer does not spin until the water is drained. I did however, try to get it to spin after it drained and it didn’t.

Any other suggestion?

Thank you

Do you hear the motor, or nothing, when it’s in spin?

Sounds like it’s going to be a brake, clutc, or transmission.

Is there a way to know which one it would be? (brake, clutch, transmission)
