When the washing machine agitates it makes a grinding noise.Could someone please give me some advice on what the problem is?It spins and doesn’t make any noise.
It is probably the brakes slipping and grinding. Unfortunately to fix them requires special tools and the service manual for detailed instructions, which Maytag will no longer let us link to.
If you want to tackle it talk with Maytag about getting the manual or look for it on the internet. You may be able to find a free downloadable copy, or one for a small fee.
