Water dispenser not working

Hi all,

I have a Kenmore refregirator which works great but the water dispenser stopped working while the ICE dispenser works fine. Can anyone tell me how to pop off the face plate so that I can get to the assembly.

For your reference, the parts diagram is located here

I see that there is a V shaped metal prong which pushes the lever depending on ICE/Water side dispenser.

Any hints are appreciated.

If I remember correctly (looking at the parts diagram).

You will need to use a stiff putty knife and insert at the bottom of the escutcheon(panel) between the door panel (skin) and the escutcheon and lightly and carefully pry out on the bottom of the dispenser panel and push down from the top of the panel to unhook the mounting tabs from the dispenser body.

Make sure the refrigerator is unplugged and beware of the harness from the dispenser key pad assembly and the control board, you don’t want to damage that.
