I have a Whirlpool dishwasher that is leaking. The drip comes from the bottom of the dishwasher, left hand side. It’s not the water inlet valve; I replaced that about a year ago, and it’s not wet. The drip comes from behind and above the water inlet valve (or in other words, more toward the back of the dishwasher, and higher toward the inside of the dishwasher, relative to the water inlet valve). I can see a black hose in that area, but since I can’t see the whole hose, I can’t be sure if that’s the culprit.
The drip begins within a second or two of me pushing start on the dishwasher; ie, as soon as the fill cycle starts, the drip starts.
Any ideas?
Also, if you have any tips on how to diagnose and replace a part I can’t see, please let me know. I’m wondering if I need to tip the machine on it’s back, or perhaps put it up on sawhorses so I can get underneath and see more?
there is DEFINATELY a water leak, but probably not in the drain hose (you said it began leaking as soon as water began to fill). you can turn off the water to the valve, unhook the water and drain lines, and unscrew the screws that are holding the dishwasher to the counter. ALSO turn off the power at the BREAKER, then either unplug the dishwasher or undo the wire nuts at the bottom-front-right. then it should slide out relatively easily. you can tip it on its side or back (be prepared for a little water leakage) and determine for sure what you need.
Is the black hose the drain hose? I was thinking perhaps the larger, semi-clear hoses in the same relative area (though, for the record, those are dry) might be the drain hoses?
Well, I stuck a camera up under the dishwasher, and found a crack in the bottom of what I believe at this point is the tub. So it’s definitely not a hose, or an inlet valve. Probably not repairable.

yes, the clear hose is the drain hose, its semi-rigid. and wow, i never saw a crack in a tub before that does sound like bad news i was thinkin it had to be in the hose coming out of the water valve or whatnot. but if you see a crack then i guess you found the source. Sorry!!
