I came home to find water all over my kitchen floor and found the water was not shutting to the ice maker. I replaced the ice maker with a new ice maker (model number wpl 4317943) however the water still runs continuously. Is the problem with the ice maker or do I have another problem? What do I need to fix it? Thanks for your help.
Your water inlet valve is probably stuck open. It can be cause by wear or sediment in the water causing it to stick. You may can clean it or get a new one. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. I purchased the suggested part (water inlet valvue or soleniod valvue) but now my ice make is not producing any ice. The valvue is not allowing any water to flow to the ice maker. My guess is that electric connections are backwards. You can only place the plastic electric tabs on one way…one set of electric contacts are smaller than the others. However the colors seemed backward to the older soleniod valvue. Is this possible or is there another problem/ solution.
Thanks
I know this my sound silly but did you turn the water back on after changing the new valve
