sirs,
my kitchen aid dishwasher stop working last week and had an electronic burnout smell. replaced the concerned burnout area(fuse) still burned out at new fuse. called and ordered your electronic control assemble part # please confirm correct one AP3775964 with another new fuse. Withdrew previous assemble with your new replacement with fuse. Started up, worked for one cycle, then did not drain. Now does not come on despite making contact with all buttons, however does have power as lights up "2" then "1" as in minutes. Thinking it may be the door catch huh?is this a critical area to to function?
I opened up area upon drainage, minor debris, tried again, now action. also get three lines — upon panel. please advise, my wife is calling me elcheapo, but rpr. man wants 85.00 to show, plus labor rate and inflated prices.
7/30/11 received ordered control panel part #3138258 and drain pump part #ap3133590 and installled.i thought that i would acqire resolution howver not so. I did acquire all lights upon the panel, previously only half of the menu would acknowledge a contact with a light upon pressing.
Placed the drain pump back in and even switched the wires in case i inserted incorrectly.
Not for the moment to work, does not engage at all still upon pressing start, press drain button to the right of start and hear a small motor sound, perhaps the pump motor i ordered, switched the drain pump motor wires and still hear the small motor not to be confused with the main dishwasher motor.
In view of the above, i have reordered another control assembly and hopiong that the first one was ap3138258, as you are aware there are two large plugs, one plug can only go in one wasy due to its inner configuration.
please inform me of the other, by the way the former both plugs were parallel to each other, now they are perpendicular to each other, not sure if that matters. But the other plug wihich only has three wires attacthed to it, one red/white, blue, and grey are to be inserted into its proper location. I need to know for sure how the plug is to be inserted as it could go either way, the panel has writted uponit "gy, "y", "bu" and "wr". please advise on this also, by the way I did also try it both way and still only acquire a small motor working when i press the draining , nothing whatso ever on pressing start. I know i have a lots of actons above, but please answer any and all concerns due to my time involved efforts. If this replacement part ap3138258 does not work this time, i will be returing all parts for credits and purchasing a new dishwasher this very week.
please advise and i would welcome a phone call to my cell if youhave the time.

update to the above:
diswasher working and draining, replaced other drain pump which i thought was broken but works as i hooked the three terminal plug in properly this time as i had it reversed and faltered function. I also ordered a long panel which holds the green ribbon ap3138258 which i may not require and may return for credit.however i’m not sure if i should retain as i have another problem that being the supplied two foot panel with all the buttons functions however does not light up the three menus to the far left
"baked on cookware", "normal". and "light china", all the other menus light up when pressed except those three. Therefore, do i have a problem that exist as the washer still runs, but wondering at which cycle since those three do not light up.
with new 2foot assebly with ribbon, any and all light up upon all menus, part cost 160.00 and would prefer to return for credit. also wondering i could tamper with the three that do not light up, please advise
