water is injected into tub right at the end of final spin
Well, this is kind of a mystery.
I suggest you run a wash in each of the machine’s cycles (normal, perm press etc) and see which cycles it does this. Post the results, along with your model number and let’s see what we have.

Assuming that the spurt of water comes at the end of the cycle, and not continuously and that it is on all cycles I am going to say that your timer should be replaced, here is the part

but because this is a fairly expensive part I would say wait for several days and invite anyone who has a different opinion to state it.
Always hate to recommend an expensive repair when one is not 100% certain.
