This is the second time this has happened to our gas oven. The ignitor warms up fine, but the gas will not kick on for a long time. Somtimes its 5 minutes, others it is 30 minutes or longer, or not at all. Is the ignitor not getting hot enough, or is this a regulator or a thermostat problem? The last time this happened, a couple years ago, the ignitor element finally burned up and I had to replace it. I glows red hot, but the gas does not come on. Any ideas?

That is a very typical characteristic of an old ignitor. Thermostats rarely go bad. Hopefully you can still find the required ignitor, or an approved substitute. I’ve had problems with exactly that behavior, more-so with substitutes. They seem to glow decently but just are no-longer getting hot enough as resistance falls out of the design range…Rz
