Hello. I am having an issue with the AF (air flow) error on my Cabrio dryer. I recently posted the following question on the appliancepartspros website and received the following answer:
QUESTION: "I had been getting an AF error (air flow). I had the vent professionally cleaned and still got AF. My dryer then stopped working. There is full power but once I hit start it the unit does nothing. I fixed replaced the thermal fuse and was able to do two loads of laundry and it stopped working again. I tested the thermal fuse with a multimeter and it needs to be replaced again. What could be the bigger issue that I need to fix. I'm assuming the motor is fine since the drum was tumbling fine and the blower wheel doesn't seem to have any resistance when I turn it by hand. Could it be the thermostat, thermal cut-off, or thermister? Or something else? Thanks!"
ANSWER "Hello Chav. You need to test the thermistor 8577274 and see if it is causing the issues with the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html"
UPDATE: So I bought and installed a new thermal fuse and thermister and after a couple of minutes of running the dryer the AF code re-appears. What would be the next logical issue that I can try to fix. Thanks!
