Hello,
I have a whirlpool cabrio wtw5500xw0 seem to have a couple problems that I cannot figure out. It originally would get stuck on spin and would not spin or drain so I would have to shut it off and restart it in the drain/spin cycle for the load to be completed. Now it seems to be getting stuck on the sensing mode. Usually it will do a few short spins and go in and out of lid lock to sense the load but now it sticks on spin and the lid lock flashes. the only way for it to stop is 1) unplug washer or 2) let it sit there for about 2 min while it continues spinning but in this case it smelled like the motor was burning up. In either case the washer will not continue after this point.
I have performed a diagnostic test by following the steps and got the following result: S-w-R-S-D and s-w-R-s-D (sense, wash, rinse, spin, done) Capital letters are the lights that flash… After looking at the diagnostic guide I found this sequence to be the F7 E5 error code or "shifter fault" code. Is this correct?
Next I followed the instructions to perform Test #3a: Drive System - Shifter and did both the spin and agitate tests. The washer passed each test for lid lock, cold valve, hot valve, fabric softener dispenser, drain, low spin, high spin, gentle agitate, and heavy agitate (no oxi dispenser on this model). Any further instructions assume that one of these test failed along the way…
Being what I thought was or might still be a "shifter fault," I replaced the shift actuator… Yet I still get the same result…
Any ideas as to what I should do next? If anybody can help I would appreciate it. Thank you!
