So the washer start making a scratching noise and won’t completely drain out.
Took the tub out and checked everywhere for coins or anything in the basket and I can’t see anything.
Made sure everything looked ok, put back together and it still.makes a scratching noise. Almost like there’s something on the bottom of the tub scraping the basket but there’s nothing. Its completely clean.
Your model number wasn’t coming up to well or it was incomplete anyways i’m assuming your unit is the rotor/stator type Well since you said you already removed the drum and checked under the drum and you say there’s nothing wrong with that or the hub, here’s another few steps…Check both the drain pump and recirc pump if youre has one for debris in the pump or hoses attached…rotate the agitator by hand it should move freely if it does try and track down where the noise is coming from by having a second person underneath unit as you prop it up against the wall or something and see if you can hear the grind…it would be good remove your rotor and see if any wiring or magnets have broken off on your rotor and are stuck in the stator area…if that’s not it i’d suspect you might have a bad bearing which in tail requires a rebuild machine requiring about 2 hours labor of work. These unit are known for bad bearings.
Should that spindle in the bottom of the basket spin easily? Its sort of hard to turn with one hand and it feels and sounds rough when it does turn. Could this be the bearing?
So it was my bearing. Now I’m having trouble putting the bottom washer in, that’s between the spacer and bearing. How does it stsy straight in there???
There’s so much play that its just going to push up into the spacer
