Whirlpool Clutch

I don’t know why it is such a deep, dark secret. What is the orientation of each piece that fits on the shaft? There is a clutch drum, there is a four-pronged plastic anti-rattle piece, there is a wire clip, there is a slotted, slide-in locking washer and there is a thrust washer. Each piece has an upside and a downside. Why in heavens is it so difficult to find an assembly drawing showing the correct way to assemble these pieces on this clutch?

What problem are you having with the washer?

I really don’t know how this forum works because, as usual, their are no explicit step-by-step instructions on what to do to answer you. Whoever designs these things thinks that you can read their minds. (I never was able to read a Moron’s mind) I see a lot of useless BLAH, BLAH, BLAH and not much more. I tried to sign in and find that I am not returned to your page. Instead, I am sent back to the sign-in page-over and over again. I searched around and finally returned to the page where it all started and tried pressing a rather ridiculous-named button called "Quote". So, I don’t know if you are receiving this response. If you are, that button should be renamed "Respond".

The problem I am having is that the transmission jammed and caused the coupling to shear off. Between the time a new transmission arrived and I was in the process of installing (2-weeks) it the clutch parts fell to the floor. I think I know how they go back on, but you know what the word "ASSUME" means. So all I need is an assembly drawing or an instruction sheet to tell me how to do it.

Gene,

Sorry, Gene, but all I received were two blank pages with a small "x" in the top left-handed corner of each one. Clicking gives me nothing. Thanks anyway. I’ve decided to call it quits using this system.
