Whirlpool Dishwasher Fills and then Stops

I recently ran my dishwasher and I could hear it filling then after about a minute or so it shut it self off. I opened the door and the entire bottom was filled with water. I’m pretty handy and was able to take everything apart and was hoping this forum could provide some insight into what I should be looking for. Here is the information I know so far:

  1. I was able to get to the food chopper and remove and there was nothing clogging in the immediate area. I could not see inside but I was able to turn the pump freely with my fingers.

  2. I tested the drain pump and received a reading of around 16 ohms.

  3. I have tested the motor as well and received a reading about 6.7 ohms with the capacitor connected and disconnected. I’m not sure if the capacitor should have a reading but at first I was getting a slight spike when I tested the capacitor and then a few minutes later when I touched the multimeter to get a reading I got no ohms at all.

I think I am getting closer to the problem, but I was hoping that one of the experts would be able to help me get a little deeper or know of some other places to look first before I assume that the dishwasher is fried.

Thanks for any help!
