My whirlpool GU2400XTPS1 dishwasher has gotten more and more noisy lately. It was super quiet when we first started using it, but now it’s hard to even carry on a conversation in front of it. It is noisy pretty much the whole cycle now when the water seems to be pumping.
I have removed everything inside the base of the dishwasher down to the screen and chopper. I did find a screw that had some how made it down there (came loose from where dishwasher was secured to cabinet), but the screen was clear and I found nothing that would obstruct flow.
Is there anything else I can inspect or test prior to replacing the pump?
Is replacing the pump the most likely solution to my problem?
If replacing the pump is the right thing to do, what are the basic steps for removal and replacement of the pump. Are there any key points to the process?
