We have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 dishwasher that keeps blowing fuses. The first time we called(and paid $80) for an appliance repair man to come out and check it out. He was here for 5 minutes, tapped the fuse, and it started working again. He gave us the part number that we needed and the name of a local place to get the parts and was gone.
Fast forward 90 days and the old fuse pops again. Tapping on it does not work so I purchase a new one and replace it. This lasts for maybe 20 days and pops. Tapping it does not work. So I call the service guy to see what he will do. Of course we are out of their warranty period, but he mentions that he thinks there is a technical bulliten for the dishwasher that states something about replacing the wires and that the parts store should know about it. They do not, although I have found them for other models.
Can anyone tell me if there is a technical service bulliten for this machine or if there is something else I need to be looking into?
My wife is frustrated and I am running out of ideas!
What is the part number of the thermal fuse you installed?
Gene.
The fuse listed for the dishwasher/the one that I have put back in it is #661663. Its about the diameter of a nickle.
I called the tech that came out to look at it the first time and he is going to do somemore checking for me online and get back with me tomorrow hopefully.
I would check two things:
-
How much amps drawn by the pump motor and the heater
-
Might be water inside the dishwasher is too hot.
