I used to only need to press “start” and the machine will run in the same setting as my previous cycle. However, it won’t response anymore when I only pressed start and I have to re-select the “cycle” again then press start. Unfortunately, since yesterday, it won’t response at all despite I re-selected the cycle. All I saw was the green light for normal cycle and - - in time remaining.

Will replacing the electronic control board fix all of the above problems? Do I need any other parts?

Hi.

Most likely it’s the control panel not the control board.
Before replacing it try to clean the edge of the flex ribbon connector with isopropyl alcohol or with the pencil eraser.

Here is the breakdown diagram and http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5140088&diagram_id=29215075

Choose the color of the panel.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Hi, we installed the new control panel 2 days ago. All of the previous problems were resolved and we ran a normal cycle and it was fine.

However, we have a little problem with the "time remaining" field. Some of the numbers in the time remaining do not display properly. i don’t notice this problem with the malfunctioned old panel. any way to fix this?

also, i forgot to tell my husband to clean the flex ribbon connector prior to installing the new panel, can this be the cause?

thanks.

Hi.

I think that you’ve got a defective part and should replace it.
