My gas dryer runs fine for one load but then in follow up loads gas flame will not ignite. Vent is all cleaned out. I have replaced coil and thermal fuse. Still not working.
Hi,
Did you also clean out around the blower housing?
If so then you may have a week ignitor.
blower housing appears to be clean. should I replace igniter?
OK- I have replaced the igniter with same results. It fires up on first load but after that coil lights up but no flame. If I let it cool down for 20 minutes it will fire up again. What do I replace now??!!! FLame sensor?
Hi.
Tell me, please , if the ignitor glows and shots off? If it does then most likely you need to replace the safety gas valve (comes with new set of coils). When replacing it don’t forget to turn the gas off.

is there a video or directions on how to replace this part?
Hi.
To remove the gas valve :
- Turn the gas off.
- disconnect the gas line from the dryer.
- remove the back panel.
- take the bracket off the end gas pipe.
- remove screws holding the burner to the bottom.
- pull out the assembly. Note - be very careful not to brake the ignitor.
- remove two screws holding valve to the bracket.
- install orifice from old valve to the new one if needed.
- reinstall everything .
I hope this will help you.
Thank you. Post the results.
Simon.
So I replaced the gas valve. The igniter glows and the flame burns but not for the whole cycle. I am thinking it is the flame sensor- any thoughts??
Hi.
The gas flame is not suppose to stay on all the time the dryer is on. It cycles on and off. 2-3 min. on then 1min. off.
Thank you.

It burns for a part of the cycle then stops. It never reignites leaving a load of laundry still damp.
I understand that. It burns initially then stops and does not reignite leaving the clothes damp at the end of a cycle.
Hello.
Let’s fix your dryer.
I’d like you to check three things one by one.
Take the back off and locate the operating thermostat next to the fuse.
When the dryer start acting up install the jumper across two large contacts.
If that works - replace the thermostat.
If not - on the right locate the hi limit thermostat. Same procedure.
If that doesn’t work - replace the flame sensor.
