To get to the problem, this whirlpool electric dryer works fine except the dryer doesn’t stop at the end of the cycle. If you open the door it will stop but when you close it, it starts back up. The timer moves during the cycle as it should with heat and cool down as you would expect. You use to have to press the "push to start" button to start the dryer but since this problem of the only way to stop it is to open the door start you only need to close the door and it will start running and rotating the drum.
Is this a case that the timer needs to be replaced or what would you suggest me do to diagnosis the problem. We have replaced a number of the parts on it over the years and would like to fix this one and keep the machine running in order.
Thanks,
Steve
