Whirlpool Duet dryer runs for a few seconds then stops

We have a Whirlpool Duet dryer that is about 8 years old and recently it had been making a whirring noise so we assumed it was some kind of a belt issue. I purchased a new belt and we took the whole dryer apart and cleaned it out. The belt was fine but the pulley roller had a grove worn in it so we purchased a new one and replaced both the belt and the pulley roller. We also cleaned all 4 rollers really well as they were full of lint and hair that was preventing them from rolling freely. When we were putting it back together, the service manual that I had gotten online, said "DRUM INSTALLATION NOTE: Be sure to position the drum with the clip toward the front when you reinstall it." We realized that that was not the original way the drum was installed but my husband (against my wishes :() decided to follow the instructions in the manual and put the drum in the opposite was it was originally installed. So we get it all put back together and in place and turned it on and it ran for a few seconds and then stopped. We can’t get it to fun any longer. If you leave it alone, it will wait a few minutes and then turn back on for a few seconds again and then turn off again.

We are not sure if the drum being put in different is the cause, or if something else is wrong. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

turned drum around and still have the same problem
