Whirlpool Duet filled with water when door is open

I have a Whirlpool Duet HT Model GHW9400PL1. It has randomly started to have water in it days after having done laundry. I typically do laundry only once or twice a week. The clothes are completely spun out when I put them in the dryer. I leave the door open to prevent mold, and sometimes when I go to do a load several days later there is water just sitting in the drum and I have to run a drain/spin cycle to empty it to do the next load.

Is this something I can fix? I took the front off a couple of weeks ago and found nothing in the trap that screws in/out, it seemed to work fine for a couple of weeks, no water collecting randomly, just went in now and it was more full than it ever had been, dangerously close to spilling out on the floor.

Thanks

Hi.

The problem is, most likely with the water inlet valve. The diaphragm inside the valve is not closing all the way, bypassing the small amount of water inside the tub. This problem can be repaired by replacing the defective valve
