Whirlpool Duet ghw9200l / ghw9100l won’t drain pump makes ticking sound
I have a Whirlpool Duet washer that doesn’t drain anymore. The pump runs and makes a ticking sound. I have taken the pump apart and the impeller feels very loose on the drive shaft. Is it supposed to be that way? Sometimes the impeller spins freely by hand and seldom does it seem to engage with the internal shaft (magnets?). I can’t pull the impeller off the shaft with reasonable force to see if anything is broken in there. Motor resistance is 16 ohlms, according to my multimeter. Manual says it should be 15-something. I do not think it is the motor itself.
Drain discharge pipe is not blocked. Water flows freely from tub thru filter housing. Any input?
If you look at most sites, they talk about an ASKOLL M75 pump. Whirlpool only sells the full pump and housing assembly and it will cost you between $95 and $200. It is listed as part # 280187.
The same motor is available for GE models as the WH23X10013 and I’ve found it as cheap as $19 !!! Now of course, all you get is the motor and not the full drain assembly, but it’s the part that failed, not the drain assembly! Save your money folks!" is quoted from hxxp://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_is_your_Whirlpool_Duet_Washer_not_Draining and I am wondering if that is true? Is this a part that appliance pros sells?
Hi, just wondering still. I know the tech staff is probably very busy, thank you in advance. Any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.
