Ever since they were new my Duet washer and dryer have an occasional similar problem They just freeze mid-cycle in whatever mode they were in. Washer countdown timer stops, and continues whatever it was doing at the moment (spinning, rinsing, agitating, etc). Dryer freezes (especially on "BULKY" at about 10 minutes and continues to run forever until you turn it off. Doesn’t happen all the time. Has happened to each unit maybe 2-3 times over the course of 11 months. Has to be a problem with the microcontroller. I have checked the incoming line voltages for noise, spikes, low/high voltage, etc. Can’t find any problems there. Any suggestions? Have had repair tech out to fix the washer problem once. He was not terribly familiar with this model but did what he called a hard reset of the microcontroller. (This actually doesn’t make any sense to me since pulling the plug SHOULD do the exact same thing). It has worked since but I am holding my breath.
