Been about 3 weeks with no washer now. Whirlpool Duet washer stopped and gave F6 error while running. Door wouldn’t unlock, so removed panel and manually unlocked. Tried to run again and heard loud "click" when door locked (like normal) then faint click and door wouldn’t unlock. Washer wouldn’t run. Repeated this a couple of times with same result. Ran diagnostics and it showed same E1f6 error. Messed with it a few days (unplugging for 24 hrs., etc) then took it to repairman. He said he couldn’t get it to do anything, so he thought it may be door latch. He replaced door latch, but now it won’t even lock. And now can’t enter diagnostics. Turn it on and try to start cylcle, the timer that shows minutes just flashes the number of minutes - no lock, no error - nothing. So ordered a harness from APP, still the same. Then ordered a drive motor and MCU. Tried new MCU, still the same. Haven’t tried motor because it tests good with approx. 6 ohms at the 1-2, 2-3 and 1-3 terminals. Any ideas??? Thinking of ordering a new CCU to try that (that means another week lugging laundry to Mom’s) Does this seem like the logical culprit???
Well, got to checking into the door lock problem because repairman said he couldn’t get it to do anything when we took it to him. After looking at the door switch/latch, found that he had left a connector unplugged!! So plugged it in, and now we are back to where we started. Door will lock and do most of cycle. Seems like it errors out when it tries to do a higher speed spin. Sounds like the motor is making noise like it’s working but the tub isn’t moving most of the time. Wasn’t sure if it would run with the back cover removed maybe due to the sensor that pushes in when back cover is on. Still haven’t tried the new motor but will over the weekend. Did notice that it seems like there is alot of wobble to the tub even at the slower speed that it will turn at. Checked the 3 shocks and they appear OK.
