Dryer timer will not advance in either auto or time dry position. Dryer does heat and dries loads but will not shut off. I assume the problem is a bad timer? Your thoughts. Thank you

If everything else run OK but the timer does not advance, odds are high thet the timer is shot.
To check put the unit in timed dry and measure for 120 volts across the motor.
If it is there and the timer does not advance then the timer is shot for sure.

yes, this is worth repairing, and your blower whell is an easy replacement. pop the top up, and then take the front off, and then take the blower cover off, and you are there. part # is 31001317. tom %url%

Many thanks for your reply. I haven’t taken the control panel off yet but it appears to be only a few screws holding on the end caps.

Regarding the VOM test I have a few questions:

  1. I assume I check the voltage at the timer?

  2. I appreicate the chart but I’m a little lost with colors and flow. I would appreciate you letting me know color of wires and terminals at the timer where I should check for 120 volts. I know there is 220 volts to the dryer and I don’t want to make a mistake. Ouch!

  3. Is there 120 volts at the timer with the dryer on, off, or both?

If all tests point to the timer I’ll submit an order. Thanks again
