Whirlpool gold fridge, ice dispenser button doesn/t work

Hello, I have a whirlpool gold refrigerator model GI5FSAXVY02. Placed in service about 1/15/2011. The ice dispenser will not operate (it does make ice though), when I push the button for ice, all the lights light up. The water dispenser operates fine, the refrigerator temp will only lower temp. Refrigerator is at 39 degrees. I called whirlpool and they couldn’t figure it out. Any ideas. Thanks, KT

Have you figured out how to fix this yet? We are having the same exact issue with no luck so far. Thank you!

Exact same problem here… eagerly searching for a solution!!
Model G15FVAXVL.

Thanks!!

I have same issue. Here is my problem: there is a rod that opens the ice door when it is twisted. It fits into the back mechanism. This mechanism gets jammed, and the rod will no longer hit the groove. Now the whole icemaker tray will not slide in all the way, and the ice dispenser mechanism will not engage either. Have anyone fixes this issue? Do I need new parts?
Thanks,

What I don’t understand is how long you wait to get this fixed. Why not call a professional? Just curious…
