Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III won't allow water in but will run compete cycle

We have a Whirlpool model GU1200XTLS3 and I just took it back out of being in storage for about 6 months and hooked it up. I have power, water , and drain lines all in place. I put a small load in it today(first load) to make sure everything was good. I pushed the normal cycle and it started to run. It ran the complete cycle but there was never any water in it. The tub was completely dry and the dishes were still dirty. In reading some of the other post, it appears that it could be the water control valve but I do not have a parts breakdown sheet showing parts and part numbers. Can you please help me? Thanks!

Make sure that the float (#15 at the diagram) is in the bottom position. Also it should freely move up and down.

Hello Gene,

I checked the float and it is working fine. I checked its continuity and the continuity of the water inlet valve and they were both fine. I thought maybe it was the mechanical part in the water inlet valve so I replaced it but there still is no water going in to the washer. Thanks for your help!

Hello Gene,

I checked the float again and it wasn’t all the way down like I thought. It is working so far.

Thanks again!
Michael

You are welcome Michael. I’m glad you were able to fix it.

Gene.
