I have a Whirlpool GU2500XTPQ7 (Dishwasher) with Blinking "Normal" Cycle LED.
In general,

*]If the "Normal" LED is blinking, and "Normal" and "Start" buttons are pressed, a wash cycle (if running) will continue for a short time (often less than 1 min), then stop with "Normal" LED blinking, and the "Normal" & "Start" button presses will continue the cycle for another short time . . .
*]No observable response to "Cancel" button.
*]I have run through 2 Service Cycles (I found mentioned in this forum) and I provide my observations, below

Q: Do I need a new Front Control Panel, or Electronic Controller?
Q: What other tests and/or observations are recommended?
Reading this forum I have tried two proposed service cycles (each with an empty washer):
Service Cycle: Reset? (I was able to repeat this cycle two times on one day)

*]Press "Start" and timer seems to want to start a typical wash cycle, with wash cycle running and timer LED segments rotating while washer attempts to determine how much time is needed.

*]multiple times the initial wash cycle (with rotating timer LED segments) stops, then timer shows "–" (as if the door is open?, but the door is latched), with "Normal" LED blinking.

*]Pressing the "Normal" button, blinking stops.
*]Press "Start" restarts the wash cycle.

*]After multiple restarts with "Normal" & "Start" buttons, at the end (end of rotating timer LED segments) a VERY long (~90 min.) wash cycle is started.
*]The wash cycle progresses, but not at normal time (maybe 10 min. off the timer is 45 min. of real time). It is in a "Soaking" mode and maybe this is typical.
*]Observations stopped.

*]Wash cycle, with 16 min. on timer, runs for a short time (Normal LED is on), then cycle stops, and "Normal" LED blinks
*]Press "Normal" and "Start", a wash cycle continues for a short time (usually much less than 1 min), then cycle stops, with "Normal" LED is blinking.
*]"Normal" and "Start" buttons restarts the cycle, until cycle stops with "Normal" blinking. The timer does seem to be counting down the wash time.
*]Continuous cycle restarts were done until 5 min. on timer,
*]@ 5 min., shift to "Rinse-Only" LED on (Normal LED off). (wash cycle continues uninterrupted)
*]@ 4 min., shift to "Normal" LED on (wash cycle continues uninterrupted)
*]@ 3 min., then shift to "Rinse-Only" LED on (Normal LED off). (wash cycle continues uninterrupted)
*]@ 2 min., shift to "Normal" LED on, then the cycle stops, and "Normal" LED blinks.
*]Was able to restart the cycle and finish.
