Hello,
I was just given an Whirlpool gu3200xtxy4, which I’ve been told will not dispense detergent due to the door not opening during the cycle.
I’ve never worked on dishwashers before, so please go easy…
I opened up the front door, removed the dispenser, and made sure the door latch would function manually which it did. I checked the resistance through the solenoid and got ~4 ohms. However the solenoid looks like it’s been bubbling up a bit, see picture here.
The previous owner told me he had already ordered a new dispenser unit, installed it, and had no luck so he returned it and re-installed the old one. This leads me to believe it could possibly be a circuit board issue. All of the buttons on the door are functional, and I am currently running what I hope is a diagnostic test. Does anyone know what to do once this test is complete? How do I tell what the codes mean? Also, could anyone confirm the proper process to enter the diagnostic mode?
