Whirlpool Ice Maker Not Working

Greetings:

My ice maker was freezing up at the fill line. I used a hair dryer to thaw it out. It worked for a day or too then froze up again. I figured it has a slow leak so I replaced the fill valve with the one recommended on this site. I followed the instructions in the video and everything seemed to go very smoothly.

Now, after replacing the fill valve, the ice maker is not working at all. No water is getting to it, the ice maker tines do not turn. The water spout in the front of the fridge works fine. I took out the ice maker and defrosted it. The tines were pointing toward the 10:00 position and seemed to be stuck. I uncovered the motor assembly unit and removed the gear box, reset the tines to the 3:00 position and reassembled the ice maker.

It’s still dead.

I checked the fill valve and it looks good, but decided to test the unit. I disconnected the hose to the ice maker and water poured out.

The sensor light inside is working fine. Flashes when the flapper is open, solid red when closed.

Is my ice maker unit dead? What else can I check. I don’t have a multimeter.

Thanks.
