I have a built-in Whirlpool double accubake electric oven that is malfunctioning. Mdl# GBD277PDB7, Serial# XM0603287. It was installed in 2002. It had a self-cleaning incident a few years later, but it was fixed by an authorized repairman. We never utilized the self-clean feature from that point on. Some time later though the control display would begin intermittently going blank for a few days, then come back on. However, for the last few years, it functioned with no trouble. This past season after my wife finished an extensive array of Xmas cookies, the display board became totally blank.
The control panel thermal fuse had gone bad—no continuity—, I personally replaced it and hoped it would function correctly. However, although the control readouts seemingly display correctly, the clock works fine, and the top oven turns on with all the readouts visible and the temperature can be adjusted, it will not turn off except by tripping the circuit breaker. The lower oven will not turn on at all. When pressing the lower oven keypad, the upper oven turns on instead.
