I have a whirlpool RBD306PDB7 doubel oven, the display went dead though when i press a key except for start it only beeps and nothing shows on the display and the oven does not turn on, if i press start it beeps three times (i beleive 2 short and 1 long) and nothing happen, i disconnected the power opened the panel, cleaned the contact and turned on the power (after about an hour), when i press start this time it started to turn on (i could hear the blower turning and the clicking sounds as when it used to turn on) and after 3-5 seconds again 3 beeps (2 short and 1 long) and tunrned off again. If i press any key it only beeps except for pressing start again results in 2 short and 1 long beep. The display never showed anything.
If it is the control panel that i should replace or not ?
Greatly appreciate any advice.
Thanks
I have the exact same issue, i went ahead and ordered the clock control to see if it fixes it, figured rather than paying $129 to whirlpool technician might as well try the part.
The fact that the light turns on and after shutting the power the oven did turn on (no display) for a few seconds makes me think the transfer or fuses should be OK.
I will post the results once i install the parts.
Waly,
Open the control panel and locate the low voltage control transformer (#7 on the diagram). Remove the transformer plug from the control board and measure the resistance of the primary winding (R to R) and the secondary winding (BU to BU). It suppose to be 75-95 Ohms and 2-4 Ohms correspondingly.
If there is nothing wrong, replace the control board.
