Bought a house in November (dishwasher was here when we got here :)) ran fine for a couple weeks then issue one started happening. It was intermittent so not a big deal. But now since about 3 weeks ago issue 2 is happening.ill try to be as detailed as I can.
Issue 1- when starting cycle (I use the same cycle everytime) the heat will come on but water doesnt come out and wash dishes. I have to shut it down and wait a bit, try it again. Spin the knob around and start it. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times then works fine. You can smell it getting hot and smoke (somewhat) will come out. Issue only present when water doesn’t come out.
Issue 2- doesn’t drain all the way. Washes, rinsed, dries just fine but there’s about one inch of water at the bottom every time. Doesn’t ever leak out on the floor, fill up whole dishwasher, etc. Just to about 1/2 inch below the heat coil at the bottom. i have read it may be clogged and dont know what to do to unclog it. I completely rinsed and checked disposal it works and drains fine.
If it is a blockage… how do I detach and clean it?
Yes, it would be easiest to go get a new dishwasher but I cant do that right now
