I have a Whirlpool ET1FHMXLQ00 in which the compressor is sometimes not starting. The thermostat appears to be working, the compressor fan will come on but often times the compressor itself will not start. It seems that if I let it sit for a while unplugged, or with the thermostat dial turned all the way off, then when I plug it in or turn the thermostat dial on the compressor will start and it will cool. However if I immediately unplug and plug it back in, or turn the thermostat dial off and back on, the compressor will not start despite repeatedly trying this. I guess after it sits off a while it is willing to start up again.
Coils are clean and I also replaced the relay overload and start capacitor and the issue remains.
Is there another component, such as the circuit board, that a DIY like myself can test and or replace that is likely the issue?
Thanks for your help.
