Hi, so I guessed on the age, we adopted our thin twin from a rental and the dryer didn’t work. I fixed it so we got to keep it. Yay! But now the washer quits mid cycle, really not even mid, it quits a few minutes into the regular cycle, long before reaching rinse. I was going to post a picture but it wouldn’t let me so hopefully it works as an attachment. Anyways, after searching through forums I’m lead to believe the problem is with the pump or the lid switch. But I’m not sure how to go about trouble shooting through these possible issues.
I did try to examine the lid switch a bit. The washer runs up until it stops so I assumed the switch was ok. I was thinking the washer shouldn't work at all with the lid open right? But at the same time my washer does in fact work with the lid open. I reset the cycle and watched it work up until the point it quits. So that leaves me with the question, when does the switch come into play here and how do I know if it's working or not? I can say that whenever I try to start the whole thing over again, it does not add any more water. So there's definitely never any water entering or leaving the tank. But it does swish the cloths back and forth up until it just stops.
For the pump, I have no idea. I'm an electrical guy so the dryer was easy. But the washer seems like a whole new ball game. How do I go about checking the pump, or, how can I tell if it's the issue or not?
One last thing. I also read about the outlet tube possibly getting clogged or something like that. Based on my experience with this appliance, I would not be surprised at all if it was clogged. Apparently I would need to drain the washer and clean some stuff. But I'm sure about the draining process. I was looking at the back, and as far as the washer goes, there's the cold/hot water tubes, and the outlet tube. Someone mentioned raising the middle of the outlet tube but for me the pipe that the tube is connected to is much higher than where it's connected on the washer. There's nothing I can do about that so hopefully that's not the issue.
Ok, so anyways, that's where I'm at. I believe the picture of where it's stuck is attached as a PDF. It says it is. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)
