Frustrating! The washer wouldn’t spin without help and after doing some research, I learned that it was the clutch. We just replaced the clutch with a new one.

The washer spins great now, but at the start of the spin cycle there is a grinding noise that lasts a few seconds then tapers off and stops completely. It sounds like gears not catching? The cycle also stops normally, i.e. no grinding noise.

Did we just not line something up correctly when we put it back together? Or does this indicate another problem?

Did you check the motor coupling?

The motor coupling looks intact. It clicks a little when you spin it. Is that normal?
