Please help I have a whirlpool washer that wont start. Every time I push the start button it makes a clicking noise and the machine wont lock and start. In the display box the letters FDL show up. What do I need to fix this problem? Please help!!!

Well, the error message is telling you the front door will not lock, but of course you already knew that so the diagnostic is pretty worthless, which is the case with most of the new electronic controls on machines.
The most likely solution is to replace the door lock assembly, which fails regularly on these machines. It is also possible the CCU is bad, but I would try the door lock first as I think it is likely to solve your problem.
