Whirlpool washer does not fill

The whirlpool washer does not fill, it spins directly when the washer is turned on, does not fill with water.

In extra rinse mode, it fills with water and drains. Please suggest, what could be wrong.

the washer is only two year old and not used that much. the washer does not have extended warranty.

how do i test the timer, timer is the faulty one?
is there a way i can determine the faulty timer before i order a new part.

If you get the timer from APP, you can return it if it doesn’t fix the problem. The wiring diagram should be inside the control panel or on the inside of the back panel. With that, and a multimeter, you can check the timer.
