Remove the pump and motor and replace the coupler. Turn the tranny coupler clockwise till the spin basket starts to turn. If hard to turn with thumb and forefinger, you have bad brake shoes. Post results.

We have been running our washer for a while without a clothes guard and it is now starting to run out of balance and spill water out the top with large loads. Will I need to replace the snubber pad or any thing else if I replace the clothes guard?
