The washer will fill with water, agitate the clothes, drain, but will not spin. I can spin the tub by hand but it won’t spin on its own. I removed the front of the washer and started the process over. The clutch spins clockwise while the clothes are agitating but barely moves and seems to catch when it tries to spin counterclockwise. I was able to get it to spin a little bit and it shook BAD and made a loud whirling noise. The clip under the clutch is spinning so that tells me that the motor is turning. I think the clutch may be bad, but I don’t want to start randomly buying parts. Since then…
I removed the agitator and found that the hub (inner tub base) underneath is breaking apart. So I may just need to replace the hub "Part Number AP2047612
MFG Part Number WH45X10027". What else besides the hub should I order?
Hi.
Most likely you have more then one broken parts there.
Because of our unique return policy I recommend you to get all the parts and replace the hub first.
You also may need tub bearing WH2x1197, and some other parts:
WH02X10032, WH2X1199, WH02X1065, WH345X10027.
If you wouldn’t need the clutch - just return it.
