Our temperature recently dropped to 40 below, and we live in a really old drafty house. The washer sits above a crawl space that is under the house so there is no insulation there. The washer filled with water no problem, but it will not wash or drain. When you pull the knob out to start the wash it sounds like it wants too but it does nothing. My mom thinks that it is because it is too cold, is that possible? Or did something break on it?
It is possible, I had this problem along time ago, and the water was frozen in the pump causing the motor to not work. I put a space heater in my laundry room for the winter, and never had the problem again.
the water goes in but that is it. the water will not go out and it will not turn inside… when you pull the knob out it sounds like it is trying to start but it will not do anything… how do I fix this problem? I tried the heater and even a blow drier but it does not seem to be working… and since the washer is full of water I can not move it… I am going to try to hand drain out some of the water so that we can move it…
