Hello everyone! I got a set of front loaders from a family friend for cheap, and they were working great for about 8 months. Then the spider arm broke and needed to be replaced. The local repairman wanted $150 just to look at it. 30 minutes on youtube, thanks to a video on the site, I had the machine apart and my suspicions were right, the spider was broke in three spots. Ordered the part two days later it’s here and reinstalled. Got the machine all together last night, and for some reason, it powers on, makes the noise, and lights up, but all the buttons are non-responsive. The tub light stays on indefinitely, until the power is pulled. After a few seconds, it will go off. I’ve tried to do all the "resets" holding the power while unplugged, etc… and every time it’s the same thing, all lights, no go.
So I’m thinking it’s either the board itself, or somehow the door switch. I doubt the switch is the problem, but I thought I would search out some feedback. I’m already about $80 ahead on the initial diagnosis fee. I was quoted $500-$700 for a new spider / bearings. I don’t mind getting another board, but I wanted to check.
Thanks in advance!
