Frontload becomes violent

Hello all,

Today my washing machine became violent. During spins while washing (not drying) with a regular sized load it shook hard and banged and even jumped! Its not an out-of-balance condition - if I wasnt there to shut if off it would have gone through the wall.

From the top I checked the 2 springs look OK and from the bottom the 2 shock absorbers look OK. Some googling shows it might be the spider-bracket inside the plastic tub, which is a MAJOR repair. But, with NO clothes at all, it spins fine and barely shakes at all.

So before I dismantle the entire machine to check the spider bracket, I wanted to ask if that piece was broken, would it spin at all and spin OK when empty?

If it is that bracket, is there ANY way to get just a bracket and not the whole $$$ tub?

Thanks for any help…

CJ

The spider basket support is welded to the basket, you need to replace the entire spin basket and probably the tub bearings, rather expensive repair, best to get a new one.
